FETAC Level 5 B20137
Purpose
This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to gain a FETAC Credit in Accounting – Manual and Computerised Level 5. It is a mandatory module for the Level 5 Certificate in Business Studies – Administration.
This module is designed to enable the learner to understand the principles and practice of maintaining financial records manually and using integrated accounting software.

The specific learning outcomes are grouped into four units:
- Accounting Principles
- Accounting Practice
- Computer Principles
- Computerised Practice
General Aims
Learners who successfully complete this module will:
- Develop an understanding of the principles of accounting
- Understand a range of accounting terms and ratios
- Be able to carry out a range of accounting procedures
- Be capable of preparing financial statements for a range of organizations both manually and using integrated accounting software
